Operation Encompass Information

“In conjunction with Merseyside Police, the Field of Dreams Nursery is involved in an initiative called Operation Encompass.  The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident. Following such an incident, children can arrive at school distressed, upset, worried and unprepared. Operation Encompass aims to ensure that appropriate school staff (called Key Adults) are made aware early enough to support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.

At the Field of Dreams Nursery our Key Adults are:

Miss Nina Young Nursery Manager & Miss Leanne Mason Deputy Nursery Manager

This is a valuable initiative that means we can continue to support and help children and families within our school community when they need it the most.

You can find out more by visiting www.operationencompass.org or by contacting our Key Adult.”

Message from Steve Reddy, Director of Children and Young People’s Services

17/3/20

Message from Steve Reddy, Director of Children and Young People’s Services

Dear children, young people, parents/carers and families,

Following my letter yesterday the government has now announced a number of additional measures.

It is important that we all continue to follow the guidance set out by the Government and DfE and make the necessary changes.

Whilst schools remain open some planned activities will inevitably be cancelled.

Schools may well restrict all but essential visitors on to the site.

We will be speaking to Public Health England to consider the implications for children and staff with significant health needs.

Anyone who has high temperature/fever and/or new persistant cough will be required to self-isolate at home for 14 days along with anyone in their household.

We are very grateful for the continued support of all school staff, children, young people and families as we manage these difficult times.

It is important that we continue to work together and support one another.

Dear Parents / Carers,

It is that time of year again! We cannot believe it is the Nursery’s 15th Birthday Party already! This year is a very special celebration as it has also been 10 years that ‘Sue’s Room’ has official been open. Come along and join us celebrate our double celebration on Friday 12th of July 2019 at 2.15pm. Although if your child does not attend on that specific day then they must be accompanied by an Adult/Carer.

Liverpool Early Years Maths Quality Mark – Gold!!!

Our EYMQM has been developed to support practitioners in PVI settings to promote positive attitudes towards numeracy.

Miss Suzanne and Miss Lauren have been The Field of Dreams maths advocates.

For our youngest children, Mathematics is embedded in everything that we do each day, through routines, stories and everyday experiences.

By supporting colleagues and families to recognise this, we can ensure children’s early experiences of mathematics are positive, allowing them to develop a love for mathematics whilst they play, learn and discover the world around them.

Assessment covers three key themes, Leadership and Management, Workforce and Development and Mathematics Promotion. Following an assessment visit, successful settings can be accredited with a bronze, silver or gold award.

We are delighted to inform you that we have been awarded GOLD!!!
